Clara: Richard... they're here...
Richard: You're safe now, Clara. Everything is going to be alright.
The heavy front double doors of the mansion swung wide open as four uniformed police officers and two paramedics rushed inside, their boots clicking heavily on the white marble floor.
Officer Davis: Police! Where is the victim?
Richard: Over here at the bottom of the stairs, Officer! She was pushed down the flight of steps by the woman in the green dress up on the balcony!
Paramedic: Let's get a neck brace on her immediately! Careful with her back, team!
Evelyn: Officer, listen to me! I am Evelyn Sterling! This girl lost her balance and fell!
Officer Davis: Ma'am, stay exactly where you are on the landing while my officers secure the area.
Richard: Officer, I have high-definition video recording of the entire assault saved on my cloud server right here. You can see her clearly push my wife down the steps.
Richard handed his smartphone to Officer Davis, who reviewed the short video clip. The officer's face turned cold and stern as he looked up from the screen toward Evelyn.
Officer Davis: Ma'am, step down the stairs slowly with your hands where we can see them.
Evelyn: Get away from me! You have no right to arrest me in my own home!
Officer Davis: Officers, move up and secure the suspect for aggravated assault and attempted murder of an unborn child.
The two officers quickly climbed the marble staircase, grabbing Evelyn's wrists and locking stainless steel handcuffs behind her back. Evelyn shrieked in rage, her green silk gown bunching up as she struggled against the grip of the officers.
Evelyn: Richard! Tell them to stop! You are destroying our family name!
Richard: You destroyed yourself the moment you chose greed over human life, Evelyn.
Officer Davis: You have the right to remain silent, ma'am. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
The officers escorted Evelyn down the grand staircase, her expensive green dress dragging against the marble steps as she continued to scream curses at Richard and Clara.
