Richard: Look closely at this page, Evelyn. Read it from up there if you can!
Evelyn: I don't need to read your fake papers!
Richard: It states that Clara's unborn child is a ninety-nine point nine percent genetic match to me. This baby is my legitimate child and the sole beneficiary of the Sterling trust fund!
Evelyn: That means nothing! A court will never enforce a will that excludes me!
Richard: Section three of the trust explicitly states that any individual who attempts to harm or kill a primary heir forfeits every single penny of their settlement!
Evelyn: I didn't try to kill anyone! It was an argument!
Richard: You pushed a pregnant woman down a twenty-foot marble staircase, Evelyn! That is attempted murder, and the entire incident was captured on my foyer security cameras!
Evelyn's face turned completely white. She looked up at the corner of the ceiling near the crystal chandelier, where a small black security camera blinked with a steady red light.
Evelyn: The cameras... you told me those were disconnected for the estate renovation!
Richard: I reconnected them three weeks ago when I realized you were threatening Clara behind my back!
Evelyn: Richard, please! We can work this out! I will leave Dallas! I will sign the divorce papers without asking for alimony!
Richard: You don't get to negotiate anymore, Evelyn. The District Attorney has already been reviewing your bank fraud files since yesterday morning.
Screeching tires echoed down the long private driveway outside the mansion, followed by the loud, flashing red and blue lights of three Dallas police cruisers and an ambulance.
