Two paramedics entered the mansion carrying emergency medical kits, quickly stepping into the living room where Lily was resting on the sofa. They placed an oxygen mask gently over her face and checked her pulse while David held her hand tight.
Paramedic: Her vitals are weak due to dehydration, sir, but we've started IV fluids. She's going to make a full recovery once we get her to Dallas Children's Hospital.
David: Thank God... thank God.
Arthur: David, I have the emergency guardianship paperwork ready for your signature. The probate judge signed off on it ten minutes ago.
David: Hand me the pen, Arthur.
David signed his name firmly on the legal documents, officially claiming Lily as his legal daughter and sole heir under his father's trust.
Arthur: It's done, David. Lily is officially a Sterling, and no one can ever challenge her rights again.
David: Thank you, Arthur. For everything.
David walked alongside the paramedics as they wheeled Lily's gurney out through the front entrance, with little Emily holding onto his suit coat. Lily looked up through her oxygen mask, squeezing David's fingers with her tiny hand.
Lily: Daddy... are you coming with me?
David: I am never leaving your side again, Lily. You and Emily are my whole world now.
Lily: Is the dark box really gone forever?
David: It's gone forever, sweetie. You are home now, and you are safe.
David climbed into the back of the ambulance beside his daughter, looking out at the grand Dallas estate glowing under the streetlights. The dark shadows of greed and deception were finally gone, replaced by the warm, unshakeable promise of a real family built on truth and love.
