The Hidden Safe Deposit Box

The Wealthy Heiress Humiliated Her Until The Billionaire Recognized The Medallion

Richard Vance pulled another folder from his case, laying a series of formal bank receipts in front of Arthur.

Richard: "Before we initiate any transfer, Arthur, there is an unresolved deposit box in the Loop."

Arthur: "Julian's private box at Northern Trust? The one we couldn't open without the second key?"

Richard: "Exactly. The bank requires both the executor's authorization and the physical cipher key."

Clara looked at the worn medallion resting on the table beside her birth certificate.

Clara: "My mother always said the medallion had a small latch along the outer rim."

Arthur: "Show Richard. Let him examine the mechanism."

Richard took the circular platinum crest, sliding his fingernail along a microscopic groove near the top loop.

With a tiny metallic snap, the back plate slid open, revealing a miniature flat brass key hidden inside.

Richard: "Good heavens. The missing safety deposit key for box four-one-two."

Victoria stepped forward, her eyes wide as she stared at the tiny piece of brass.

Victoria: "Whatever is inside that box belongs to the Sterling corporation, not to an outsider."

Arthur: "It belongs to Julian. And Julian belongs to Clara."

Richard: "We can have a courier escort us to Northern Trust first thing at eight tomorrow morning."

Clara: "I don't care about money or corporation shares, Mr. Sterling. I just want to know who my father was."

Arthur reached out, clasping Clara's wrist with his fragile, warm hands.

Arthur: "You will know everything he left behind, my dear. Every single word."

Eleanor grabbed Victoria by the elbow, whispering sharply into her daughter’s ear.

Eleanor: "We are leaving. We will retain our own litigation attorney before morning."

Arthur: "Hire whoever you wish, Eleanor. Every retainer check you write will come out of your own allowance."

Eleanor: "You cannot cut us off from the family estate! We have rights under the bylaws!"

Arthur: "The bylaws clearly state that any board member committing fraud against the trust forfeits all shares."

Victoria: "Mother never committed fraud! She only wanted what was fair for us!"

Arthur: "Hiding Julian’s lawful daughter for twelve years while collecting her trust disbursements is felony fraud."

Eleanor pulled her fur coat tightly around her shoulders, turning toward the heavy oak exit door.

Eleanor: "This isn't finished, Arthur. A court will decide who actually owns this property."

Arthur: "The court will review your bank statements, Eleanor. I suggest you pack your bags before lunch."

As the front doors slammed shut, Clara looked around the quiet room, her heart racing.

Clara: "Is all of this real? Or will I wake up in my apartment and find the clinic closed?"

Arthur: "This is your family home, Clara. You never have to worry about rent or clinics again."

Richard: "I will prepare the probate filings for the judge's signature at dawn."

Arthur: "Rest tonight in Julian’s old room upstairs, Clara. Tomorrow we reclaim what was taken from you."
