Liam: Mom, tell me he's joking! Tell me we still have the family business!
Beatrice: Be quiet, Liam! He's just trying to intimidate us so we don't call the police on him for assault!
Marcus: Go ahead and call the police, Beatrice. I have two former federal prosecutors sitting in the third row of your guest seating who would love to explain foreclosure law to the officers.
Evelyn: Liam... did you really marry me just because you thought my dad would fund your business?
Liam: No, Evelyn! I love you! I swear I love you!
Evelyn: Then why didn't you step between your mother and me? Why did you stand there while she pulled my dress down?
Liam: I was scared! She threatened to cut me out of the family will if I argued with her!
Evelyn: You chose a fake will over your wife and your unborn child.
Evelyn reached down with trembling fingers and unclasped the diamond engagement ring from her left hand. She looked at the sparkling stone for a moment before dropping it onto the green grass at Liam's feet.
Evelyn: Take your ring back, Liam. The wedding is over.
Liam: Evelyn, no! Please don't do this! Think about our baby!
Evelyn: I am thinking about my baby. That's why I'm keeping them away from you and your mother.
Beatrice: Let her go, Liam! She's nothing but a gold-digger who engineered this whole situation with her father!
Marcus: My daughter didn't know a single thing about my business holdings until ten minutes ago, Beatrice. I raised her to be humble, unlike the spoiled coward you raised.
Beatrice: You think you're so powerful because you have money? You ruined my son's wedding day!
Marcus: You ruined it yourself the moment you mistreated my daughter. Now get off my grass before I have my security team escort you off the premises in handcuffs.
Marcus turned to the seated guests, raising his voice so everyone under the daylight sky could hear him clearly.
Marcus: Ladies and gentlemen, the wedding is officially canceled. Please enjoy the catering, but I advise you to leave before the sheriff's deputies arrive to execute the foreclosure warrant.
Gasping and chatter erupted through the crowd as guests immediately stood up from their white chairs, grabbing their purses and coats to make a quick exit down the driveway.
Beatrice: Look at what you've done! You've made us the laughingstock of Dallas society!
Marcus: You made yourself a laughingstock when you traded your home for pride, Beatrice.
Liam: Evelyn, please wait! Let me drive you home! We can fix this!
Evelyn: Don't touch me, Liam. You showed me exactly who you are today, and I will never forget it.
