Arthur ran fast down the wide marble staircase steps.
His shoes clicked loudly against the polished white stone floor.
He kept his left arm firmly wrapped around his infant child.
The tiny locket bounced off the middle landing carpet strip.
It flew high into the air toward the sharp floor edge.
Arthur: I am not going to lose our future today!
The brave father dropped to his knees on the hard floor.
He slid across the glossy marble surface with great speed.
He reached out his right hand just before the locket hit.
A sharp catch thud echoed through the tall empty room.
Arthur caught the golden locket safely inside his hand.
He slid to a complete stop near the front grand entrance.
His breath came in heavy gasps of deep emotional relief.
He looked down at his crying infant wrapped in the blanket.
Arthur: I got it, my baby, we are safe now.
The small infant cried softly under the bright hall lights.
Arthur kissed his baby's soft forehead with deep love.
He held the tiny boy close against his warm beating chest.
Tears of relief rolled down the father's tired face now.
Maria ran down the stairs as fast as she could go.
She dropped to her knees right beside the father and baby.
Maria: Thank God you caught the locket, master Arthur!
Arthur: Check the baby to make sure he is completely okay.
Maria cradled the baby boy in her warm loving arms.
She wept profusely with tears of joy and emotional comfort.
Maria: He is perfectly fine and untouched by any harm, sir.
Up on the balcony, Evelyn watched them with cold disbelief.
She could not believe Arthur had caught the precious locket.
Her face turned pale as her evil plan began to fall.
Evelyn: That locket means nothing without my official signature!
Arthur stood up from the marble floor with quick rage.
He handed the locket key back to faithful Maria safely.
Arthur: Keep him safe right here while I end this now.
Maria: Please be careful up there with that cruel woman.
Arthur turned around and ran up the marble stairs again.
His heavy footsteps thuffed hard against each stone step.
He reached the balcony landing where Evelyn stood frozen in place.
He confronted the elderly woman with intense emotional anger.
Arthur: You think you can get away with this forever?!
Evelyn: Stay back from me, this is still my house!
Arthur: Your reign of terror inside this family ends today!
Evelyn raised her hand to push him away from her.
Arthur slammed his hand against the door frame with force.
The loud wooden clap shook the quiet open balcony space.
Arthur: You will answer to the court for everything you did!
The truth was finally coming out into the full light.
