Victoria: Robert! You hit me! You hit your lawful wife in front of a maid!
Robert: You are not my wife, Victoria! Not anymore!
Victoria: I am the mother of your child! I carried your family name into every country club in Dallas!
Robert: You never gave birth to this boy, and you will never touch him again!
Elena knelt on the stone edge, wrapping Toby in a thick dry towel from the patio lounge.
Elena: He is shivering, Mr. Sterling! His lips are turning purple!
Robert: Give him to me, Elena. Let me hold my son.
Robert took the baby against his chest, tucking his wool suit jacket around the soaked infant.
Robert: Toby, look at Daddy. Breathe, buddy. Daddy has you.
Victoria: Robert, listen to me! That girl is lying to save her job!
Robert: Elena just dove into eight feet of water while you stood on the edge dry!
Victoria: I don't know how to swim! You know I have a phobia of deep water!
Elena: You pushed the wheels with both hands, Victoria! I saw you lean forward!
Victoria: The wheels caught on the garden hose! The brake slipped!
Robert: The stroller was locked when I left it by the table fifteen minutes ago.
Victoria: The wind was blowing hard off the lake! It rolled on its own!
Elena: There is no wind today, Victoria. Look at the flag above your head.
Robert looked up at the American flag hanging limp against the marble pillar.
Robert: The air is completely dead, Victoria. Why are you lying to me?
Victoria: Because you are terrorizing me! You are taking the word of a cleaning lady over mine!
Robert: Elena has worked for my family for ten years. She loved Clara like a sister.
Victoria: Clara is dead! Stop bringing up your dead wife every time we have an argument!
Robert: Clara died six months ago, and you moved into this house before her flowers even dried.
Victoria: I came here to help you rebuild your life! I brought fifty million dollars to our partnership!
Robert: You brought fifty million dollars of debt from your father's failing shipping firm.
Victoria froze on the wet stone, her green dress clinging to her trembling knees.
Victoria: What did you say about my father's firm?
Robert: You heard me clearly, Victoria. The audit landed on my desk at dawn.
Victoria: That audit was supposed to be sealed by our corporate lawyers!
Robert: It stopped being sealed when the Texas Rangers raided your father's office an hour ago.
Victoria's hands flew to her mouth, her eyes darting toward the mansion gates.
Victoria: Raided...? You're lying! My father is having lunch with the governor!
Robert: Your father was arrested for embezzlement and bank fraud forty minutes ago.
Victoria: No... No! Arthur would never let them into the building!
Robert: They didn't ask for permission, Victoria. They had federal search warrants.
Elena: Mr. Sterling, Toby's breathing is getting shallow. We need the doctor.
Robert: Take him inside to the warm nursery, Elena. Call Dr. Reynolds on the direct line.
Victoria: Don't you dare take that child out of my sight!
Robert stepped directly in front of her, his shadow blocking out the sun.
Robert: Take one more step toward my son, Victoria, and you will leave here in an ambulance.
Victoria fell back against the lounge chair, her arrogance shattering into pure, cold panic.
