Mr. Harrison opened his black folder on a clean side table near the garden.
He pulled out several pages of legal documents with red official seals.
Evelyn tried to step in front of the lawyer to block the papers.
Evelyn: This is a private family matter that should be discussed inside!
Mark: You chose to make this public when you kicked my son, Evelyn.
Victoria: My mother did not kick him, he tripped over his own feet!
Sarah: We all saw what happened, Victoria.
Sarah stood tall next to her husband, holding Toby's hand tight.
She felt stronger than she ever had before in her life.
For years, Evelyn had made Sarah feel like an outsider in her own home.
After Sarah's mother passed away, Evelyn had married her father for his money.
When her father died six months ago, Evelyn locked Sarah out of the house.
She told everyone in town that Sarah was ungrateful and wanted nothing to do with the family.
Mr. Harrison: According to the trust document, this estate belongs to Sarah Miller-Davis.
A sudden gasp broke out among the gathered guests.
Victoria looked like she was about to faint in her expensive dress.
Victoria: That is impossible, my mother is the sole beneficiary!
Mr. Harrison: The document your mother signed last month was a temporary management order.
Mr. Harrison: It expired at noon today, right before this party started.
Evelyn clutched her pearl necklace as her face turned bright red.
She had spent thousands of dollars hosting this lavish party to celebrate her ownership.
She wanted to show off her fake wealth to all the richest people in Dallas.
Now, every single person was looking at her with total disbelief.
Mark: Show them the second page, Mr. Harrison.
The lawyer turned the page and pointed to a official signature at the bottom.
Mr. Harrison: The late Mr. Miller left the entire family business trust directly to his grandson, Toby.
Mr. Harrison: Sarah and Mark are the official legal trustees until Toby turns twenty-one.
Toby looked up at the lawyer, holding his messy suit jacket with both hands.
Toby: Does that mean I own the big yard, Daddy?
Mark: Yes, buddy, the whole yard belongs to you.
Evelyn took two fast steps toward Sarah with a furious look on her face.
Evelyn: You stole this from me, you quiet little snake!
Mark: Stand back right now, Evelyn!
Mark stepped firmly between Evelyn and his wife, blocking her path.
His big frame completely blocked Evelyn from getting any closer.
Two estate security guards stepped forward from the edge of the patio.
They were no longer taking orders from Evelyn.
They looked at Mark and bowed their heads respectfully.
Security Guard: Do you need us to remove anyone, Mr. Davis?
Mark: Not just yet, let her read the final line first.
Mr. Harrison handed a single piece of white paper directly to Evelyn.
Her hands trembled so much that the paper fluttered in the light wind.
She scanned the lines quickly, her eyes growing wider with every second.
Evelyn: This says I have to leave the premises immediately.
Sarah: That is correct, Evelyn.
Sarah: You have one hour to pack your personal clothes and leave my father's house.
Victoria grabbed her mother's arm in total panic.
Victoria: Mom, tell them they cannot do this to us!
Evelyn: Where are we supposed to go?
Sarah: You can go stay at the cheap apartment you bought with my father's money last year.
The guests began to chuckle quietly at the sudden turn of events.
Evelyn's cruel reputation was well known among the local community.
Many people had suffered from her arrogant attitude for years.
Seeing her lose everything in front of the whole town was true justice.
Evelyn turned around to look at the crowd, searching for a friendly face.
Every single guest looked away or turned their backs on her.
Her fake friends did not care about her now that she had lost her money.
Victoria pulled on her mother's arm again, her face pale with shame.
Victoria: Mom, let's just go inside before this gets worse.
Evelyn: This is not over, Sarah!
Mark: It is over, Evelyn. Walk away while you still have your dignity.
Evelyn glared at Mark with burning anger one last time.
Then she turned around and marched toward the back entrance of the house.
Victoria followed right behind her, holding up her red sequin dress so it wouldn't touch the ground.
The patio fell silent again as the two women disappeared inside.
Toby looked down at the ruined cake on the stone floor.
Toby: Daddy, my cake is ruined.
Mark: We will get you a fresh cake right now, son.
Mark smiled down at his boy and picked him up into his arms.
The guests broke out into loud applause across the entire patio.
