Two uniformed state troopers entered through the grand entrance doors.
Their heavy black boots echoed softly on the smooth marble floor.
Trooper 1: Julian Vance, stay right where you are.
Julian: Officer, this is a private family dispute!
Trooper 2: We have a felony warrant for financial fraud and conspiracy.
Victoria backed away further while taking off her diamond ring.
She threw the expensive ring directly onto the floor near Julian.
Victoria: You used me to get access to the family trust!
Julian: Victoria, please do not abandon me right now!
Victoria: I never want to see your face ever again!
The troopers stepped up to Julian and placed him in handcuffs.
Julian lowered his head as metal clicks rang through the quiet room.
Trooper 1: You have the right to remain silent, sir.
Julian: David, you will pay for ruining my entire life!
David: You ruined your own life the day you touched my child.
Lily rested her head against her mother's warm side.
Clara stroked her daughter's soft hair with loving care.
Clara: Thank you for fighting for us, David.
David: I promised I would never stop searching for you.
Clara: I thought I would never see either of you again.
David: The truth always finds a way out into the sun.
The troopers led Julian away past the rows of empty chairs.
The remaining guests watched in silence as he was taken outside.
Victoria sat down on a bench and began to cry bitter tears.
Victoria: My whole life is completely ruined today.
David: You chose to help him hide Clara from the world.
Victoria: I did not know how far he was willing to go!
David: Ignorance is no excuse when a child is involved.
Lily looked up at Victoria with soft, understanding eyes.
Lily: I hope you learn to be nice to people now.
Victoria looked up in surprise at the little girl's words.
She wiped her face but could not find anything left to say.
David put his arms around Clara and Lily together.
David: Let's leave this place and go home where we belong.
