Richard stepped out of his luxury car and stood near the foyer entrance.
The dark sedan stopped just short of the marble steps.
A tall man in a leather jacket stepped out of the vehicle calmly.
"You must be Richard," the stranger said with a cruel smirk.
"Your wife owes me five hundred thousand dollars from our past deal."
"She does not owe you a single cent," Richard replied firmly.
"I have full security footage of you trespassing on my property."
"I also have video of you physically threatening my family today."
The man's smirk faded instantly as he took a step back.
"You think a few camera angles scare me?" the man sneered.
"I have documents signed by Evelyn herself," he claimed falsely.
Richard pulled out his tablet and showed the lawyer's official statement.
"Our legal team verified those signatures were forged," Richard stated clearly.
"The police are arriving at this gate in less than two minutes."
The sound of approaching sirens echoed in the distant neighborhood street.
The man turned around quickly to open his car door again.
Two private security vehicles blocked the driveway from behind him.
The chief of security stepped out and stood firm near the exit.
"You are not going anywhere," the security chief announced calmly.
The police cars pulled up with flashing lights illuminating the estate.
Two officers stepped out and instructed the man to keep hands visible.
They placed handcuffs on his wrists as he shouted angry threats.
Richard watched as the officers led the man into the patrol car.
The lawyer arrived shortly after to hand over the official restraining order.
"He will be held for extortion and assault charges," the lawyer confirmed.
Richard thanked the officers as they drove away down the long street.
He went back inside the quiet white mansion foyer to breathe easier.
The bright daylight was replaced by the warm evening indoor lights.
He picked up his phone to dial Sarah's home number again.
"The danger is completely gone now," Richard informed his wife.
"I am coming to bring you back home to Maya."
Evelyn cried tears of joy on the other end of the line.
Richard drove back to Sarah's residence with a lighter heart.
He knocked on the door and opened his arms as Evelyn stepped out.
They embraced tightly under the warm porch light of the house.
"I am so sorry I raised my voice earlier," Richard apologized softly.
"I was just so terrified for our daughter's safety," he explained.
"I forgive you, Richard," Evelyn replied holding his arm tightly.
"I should have trusted you from the very beginning," she added.
They walked together toward the car to head back home.
Maya was fast asleep in her car seat in the back row.
The family was finally safe from the dark shadow hanging over them.
Yet there were still loose financial ends that needed proper settlement.
The next morning would bring a final meeting with the estate lawyer.
Richard was determined to protect his family legacy forever.
