Chloe: You're lying! My father has full immunity from the Governor's office!
Serena: Nobody has immunity from human trafficking and money laundering, Chloe.
Chloe: Human trafficking?! That's insane! We run a charitable foundation!
Serena: Your charitable foundation was a front used to move vulnerable people across state lines while forcing them to work as unregistered servants in homes just like this one.
Serena wiped another trickle of blood from her forehead, her eyes remaining cold and steady as she looked down at the sobbing heiress on the floor. Chloe thrashed her legs against the marble, trying to pull herself away from the discarded iron chain that lay pooled in a dark red stain next to her golden dress.
Chloe: I didn't know anything about the foundation! I just host the galas!
Serena: You held an iron chain around my neck five minutes ago, Chloe. You knew exactly what you were doing.
Chloe: I thought you were a thief! Your jacket was torn!
Serena: My jacket was torn because your guards tried to steal my tactical briefcase before I reached the front foyer.
Officer Miller: Special Agent Carter... we have the perimeter secured. What are your orders regarding the house guests?
Serena: Seal the revolving doors. Nobody leaves this estate without providing full identification and submitting to a federal background check.
A loud wave of terrified gasps echoed through the foyer as dozens of wealthy socialites and corporate executives backed away toward the grand marble fireplace, pulling out their smartphones in a panic.
Guest 1: You can't detain us! We were just invited for afternoon drinks!
Serena: Anyone who attempts to exit through those doors without clearance will be arrested for obstruction of a federal investigation.
Guest 2: This is outrageous! Do you know who my lawyers are?!
Serena: I don't care who your lawyers are. Sit down on those sofas and keep your hands visible.
Chloe pulled herself up into a sitting position, her face smeared with mascara and dirt as she looked at Officer Miller with desperate, pleading eyes.
Chloe: Miller, please! You've known my family for ten years! You came to my sweet sixteen party!
Officer Miller: I'm sorry, Miss Vance. I have my orders from Federal Oversight. Hand over your phone.
Chloe: No! I need to call my attorney!
Officer Miller: Your phone is evidence now. Give it to me, or I'll add resisting a federal officer to your processing sheet.
Serena: Take her smart watch too, Officer. We know her family uses encrypted satellite messaging apps to transfer overseas funds.
Chloe: You evil, ugly bitch! You planned this whole thing!
Serena: I didn't plan for your guards to beat me up in the driveway, Chloe. But I'm certainly going to make sure every single strike is added to your indictment.
