Clara picked up her heavy leather purse from the floor with shaking, angry hands.
Clara: You think you are so much better than me with your big house!
Mark: This has nothing to do with money and everything to do with your cruelty!
Clara: You got lucky while I worked hard and got absolutely nothing in return!
Mark shook his head in deep sadness at his sister’s complete lack of self-awareness.
Mark: I worked two jobs for five years while you wasted every opportunity given!
Sarah stepped forward slightly, holding the quieted baby securely against her shoulder.
Sarah: We invited you here out of love so you would not be lonely today.
Sarah: But you brought nothing but bitterness and hatred into our safe home environment.
Clara sneered at Sarah, her voice dripping with extreme venom and bitter spite.
Clara: I never wanted your fake sympathy or your stupid holiday dinner anyway!
She reached out suddenly and kicked over a decorative plastic reindeer near the doorway.
The small ornament shattered into pieces across the shiny wooden floor of the hallway.
Mark grabbed Clara’s shoulder firmly and pulled her directly toward the front entrance.
Mark: You are leaving this property right now before I call the local police!
Clara: Let go of me right now or I will tell everyone how terrible you are!
Mark: Nobody in our family will ever take your side after what you did!
Mark pulled open the heavy front door, letting the icy winter wind rush inside.
The cold air blew snow onto the carpet as Clara stood on the icy porch.
She looked back into the warm, bright house that she was no longer allowed in.
Clara: You are making a massive mistake that you will regret forever, Mark!
Mark: The only mistake I made was letting a monster into my daughter’s life.
Mark slammed the heavy wooden door shut, locking the deadbolt with a loud click.
The sound echoed through the high-ceilinged hallway, bringing an abrupt end to the noise.
Outside, Clara screamed in frustration before her snowy footsteps faded down the driveway.
