The morning light streamed through the high windows of the estate, illuminating the polished marble floor of the upper hallway. A heavy, quiet tension filled the mansion, broken only by the soft rustle of silk.
Clara: You really thought you could come back here and pretend nothing happened, didn't you, Eleanor?
Eleanor: I came to claim what my father left me, Clara. Nothing more.
Clara: Your father left everything to this family—the estate, the trust fund, the company. You have no right to step foot in this house.
Eleanor: The will was clear, Clara. Half of the estate belongs to me, whether you like it or not.
Clara stepped closer, her face twisting with intense anger as she backed Eleanor toward the edge of the balcony.
Clara: You think a piece of paper gives you a life here? You were always an outsider!
Eleanor: Please, Clara, just stay back. We can talk about the inheritance with the lawyer tomorrow!
Clara: There won't be a meeting tomorrow.
Eleanor's back pressed against the cold white balustrade of the upper hallway. She looked down at the vast grand foyer two stories below, her heart pounding with terror.
Clara: It was so much easier when everyone thought you were gone for good.
Eleanor: Clara, stop! What are you doing?
Clara: Ending this ridiculous lawsuit before it costs me my fortune.
With a furious shove, Clara pushed Eleanor straight over the balustrade edge. Eleanor lost her footing entirely, falling backward into the open air of the foyer.
Eleanor: No, please help me!
Her desperate scream echoed off the high marble walls as she plummeted toward the hard floor below, completely helpless.
