The Stepmother Sealed My Son Inside A Secret Brick Wall

Dust drifted across the sunlit marble hall of the Dallas estate as Maria adjusted her rubber gloves.

She shoved the massive oil canvas aside, her breath catching as the hollow space groaned behind the brickwork.

Maria: Hello? Is someone behind this plaster?

Ethan: Please... get me out of here!

Maria: Ethan! Keep talking, sweetheart! I can barely hear you through the grate!

Ethan: It is so dark, Maria... My hands are frozen!

Maria: Hold on! I have the screwdriver from the maintenance tray!

Maria dug the steel tool into the rusted screw heads, twisting them loose until the iron vent rattled.

Ethan: Hurry, please! I can't breathe very well in here!

Maria: Ethan, keep talking! I'm getting you out!

The metal grate clattered against the baseboard, exposing a narrow compartment carved into the masonry.

Inside sat seven-year-old Ethan, clutching a dirty fleece blanket and half-empty water bottle.

Maria pulled the sobbing child out by his shoulders, burying his tear-stained face into her uniform.

Ethan: She said Dad would never find me...

Maria: You are safe now, baby. Nana has you.

High heels clicked across the marble landing as Isabella stepped into the hall in a gold satin gown.

Isabella: Put him back.

Maria: You locked an innocent child inside a ventilation flue!

Isabella: I told you to put him back inside where he belongs, maid.

The grand entryway doors banged wide open as Marcus Vance strode inside wearing his black tuxedo.

Marcus: Isabella!

Isabella: Marcus! You weren't supposed to return from the corporate merger dinner until nine!

Marcus looked at the open hole in the brickwork, his pulse hammering against his temples.

Marcus: Why was my son sealed behind that wall?!

Marcus charged forward, shoving Isabella hard across the shoulders until she flew backward.

Isabella: Ah!

She crashed to the floor, stunned, beneath the silk American flag hanging above the grand staircase.

Marcus: Get out of my house right now!

Isabella glared up from the tiles, unaware that Marcus had already uncovered her darkest fraud.
