Arthur knelt beside Clara on the cool white floor.
He checked her arms for any deep cuts or bruises.
Clara held out the paper file with her shaking hands.
Clara: Look at these bank transfer forms, Arthur.
Clara: She tried to change your life insurance policy.
Arthur opened the file and scanned the pages carefully.
His eyes widened as he saw the forged signature below.
Victoria had tried to transfer millions to an offshore account.
She had also contacted a divorce lawyer two weeks ago.
She planned to take the mansion and the Dallas property.
Arthur felt a terrible ache inside his heavy chest.
He had trusted Victoria with his heart and his wealth.
He stood up slowly and faced his dark-haired wife.
Victoria backed up against the wall under the flag print.
Victoria: We can talk about this privately, Arthur!
Arthur: There is nothing left for us to talk about.
Victoria: I did it for our future and our family!
Arthur: You did it because you are cruel and greedy!
Victoria tried to walk past him toward the back stairs.
Arthur blocked her path with his tall solid frame.
Arthur: You are not leaving this house today.
Victoria: You cannot keep me here against my will!
Arthur: The police officers are already turning onto our street.
Sirens began wailing in the quiet suburb outside the windows.
Victoria looked around the large hallway with panicked eyes.
She realized her elaborate plan was completely ruined forever.
Her face lost all its fake warmth and charm instantly.
Victoria: You will lose millions if you report this!
Arthur: I do not care about the money anymore.
Arthur: I only care about keeping my family safe.
Clara stood up slowly, holding onto the balustrade for support.
She looked at Victoria with quiet strength and dignity.
The truth was finally out in the bright daylight.
