Mark stepped fully into the kitchen, his brow furrowed with extreme anger and confusion.
He looked at his mother holding her forehead and then turned sharply toward his wife.
Mark: What on earth is happening here right now?
Mark: Why are you shouting at my mother like this, Sarah?
Sarah: Ask her what she was about to give our son!
Evelyn: I was simply feeding my grandson his morning formula, Mark.
Evelyn: Your wife barged in here like a lunatic and grabbed him away!
Mark crossed his arms and glared sternly at Sarah across the marble island.
Mark: You cannot keep causing scene after scene in this house, Sarah.
Mark: My mother came all the way to Dallas to help us with Leo!
Sarah: She is not here to help us, Mark!
Sarah: She has been trying to alter his sleep medication for days!
Evelyn gasped dramatically and turned her head toward her son for immediate support.
Evelyn: That is a complete and utter lie, Mark!
Evelyn: I have cared for this family's legacy for over thirty years!
Sarah pointed a shaking finger toward the marble countertop next to the sink.
A digital tablet lay face down beside a dropped silver chain and an open bottle.
Sarah: Look at the tablet screen right now, Mark!
Sarah: The nursery app caught every single thing on live recording!
Mark looked down at the marble surface with a sudden look of hesitation.
The low hum of the refrigerator filled the quiet room as tension mounted higher.
Clara quietly shifted her weight from one foot to the other near the cabinets.
Mark: You set up hidden cameras in my family home?
Sarah: I set up safety monitors because things were missing from his nursery!
Sarah: Pick up that screen and see the truth with your own eyes!
Mark reached out his hand slowly toward the black digital tablet lying on the counter.
Evelyn stepped forward quickly, trying to reach the device before Mark could touch it.
Evelyn: Mark, do not indulge this paranoia any further today!
Sarah: Let him see it, Evelyn!
Mark picked up the tablet, turning the bright display screen toward his face.
