Arthur Vance looked down at the documents in Sarah's hands with sudden panic.
His arrogant posture collapsed as he stepped back toward the porch steps.
Arthur: What confession are you talking about?
Sarah: The doctor who signed the false paper admitted everything to the police.
Mark: Your entire trust fund fraud scheme is falling apart right now, Vance.
Arthur: That document is completely inadmissible without a judge's formal signature!
Sarah: The county prosecutor is reviewing the wire fraud charges this minute.
Arthur reached for his cell phone inside his grey suit jacket pocket.
Before he could make a call, two black police cruisers pulled into the driveway.
Their red and blue lights flashed brightly against the suburban green lawn.
Two uniformed officers stepped out of the cars and walked up the walkway.
Officer: Arthur Vance? We have a warrant for your immediate arrest.
Arthur: This is a massive misunderstanding regarding a corporate estate trust!
Officer: You have the right to remain silent, sir.
The officer placed metal handcuffs around Arthur's wrists behind his back.
Mark watched in silence as the corrupt manager was led down the driveway.
Sarah let out a deep breath and let the heavy paper folder rest.
Mark: How did you get the prosecutor involved so quickly, Sarah?
Sarah: My uncle is the senior partner at the city lawsuit firm.
Sarah: He spent all morning gathering the bank transfer records for us.
Mark: You saved our entire family from a nightmare today, Sarah.
Sarah: We protect the people we love, no matter what it takes.
Lily and Emma walked out onto the porch into the bright afternoon sunshine.
Emma looked around at the green trees and the quiet neighborhood street.
Emma: Am I allowed to stay out here in the light now?
Mark: You will never have to hide in the dark ever again, Emma.
Lily grabbed Emma's small hand and smiled with pure, unselfish joy.
Lily: Come on, Emma! I want to show you my bedroom upstairs!
