Arthur stood up from the floor with slow control.
His eyes glared directly at his trembling wife above.
The anger in his chest was visible in his posture.
Arthur: How could you be so utterly heartless?
Eleanor: She came here to destroy our family legacy!
Arthur: She is carrying my grand-child, you foolish woman!
Eleanor: That baby is just a trick to take our estate!
Arthur walked up the first three marble steps steadily.
He pointed his finger directly into Eleanor's pale face.
Arthur: Stop your wicked lies this very instant!
Eleanor: You have to listen to my side of the story!
Arthur: I listened to your lies for thirty whole years!
He stepped closer until he stood on the same stair.
Eleanor backed up against the golden banister rail.
Eleanor: I did everything to keep our fortune safe!
Arthur: You did everything to satisfy your own greed!
He raised his voice until it echoed off the ceiling.
Arthur: I am stripping you of every single legal privilege!
Eleanor: You cannot take away my place in this company!
Arthur: Watch me sign the corporate papers this afternoon!
Eleanor tried to grab Arthur's sleeve to plead for mercy.
Eleanor: Please Arthur, do not throw me away like this!
Arthur swiped his arm away in deep emotional disgust.
Arthur: Do not touch me ever again, Eleanor!
The sharp sound of flashing red lights filled the driveway.
Sirens blared softly through the heavy wooden front doors.
The medical team arrived at the mansion within seconds.
Two paramedics rushed inside carrying a heavy black stretcher.
Paramedic: Clear the way! Where is the injured patient?
Arthur turned away from Eleanor without saying another word.
He rushed back down the stairs toward the medics fast.
Arthur: She is right here on the floor, hurry up!
The paramedics knelt beside Clara to check her breathing.
They placed an oxygen mask over her pale lips carefully.
Paramedic: She is stable, but we must hurry to the hospital!
Arthur watched as they lifted Clara onto the white stretcher.
He held Clara's cold hand in his own warm grip.
Arthur: I will be right behind you in my car.
Eleanor stood alone near the top of the grand stairs.
She watched the stretcher wheel out through the double doors.
Her emerald gown seemed cold and heavy around her shoulders.
She realized nobody was left to defend her cruel actions.
