A Sudden Loud Crash

The Nanny Was Blamed Until A Video Revealed The Truth

Chloe watched in horror as Evelyn extended her arm toward the back of the antique carriage.

With a firm and deliberate push, Evelyn knocked the heavy silver carriage straight forward.

The metal wheels unlocked instantly and began rolling toward the edge of the high staircase.

Chloe did not hesitate for even a single second as the heavy object tipped downward.

She dropped her duster and sprinted across the slippery marble floor as fast as possible.

The metal wheels rattled loudly against the stone steps with a terrifying harsh clatter.

Chloe threw herself forward across the bottom steps to catch the falling silver heirloom safely.

She slid hard onto her knees across the cold marble floor at the very bottom landing.

Her hands grabbed the heavy carriage frame just inches before it crashed into the solid wall.

The sharp metal edge scraped against Chloe's forearm, leaving a painful red mark behind.

She gasped for breath while holding the heavy piece securely against her trembling chest.

High above on the top landing, Evelyn immediately let out a loud and dramatic scream.

Evelyn: Oh my goodness, look at what you just did down there!

Chloe: I caught it, Miss Evelyn, it is completely safe!

Evelyn: You almost destroyed Marcus's precious family treasure with your clumsy hands!

Marcus rushed out of his private study at the top of the stairs upon hearing the noise.

His face was pale with sudden panic as he looked down toward the lower front entrance.

He saw Chloe sitting on the cold stone floor clutching the heavy antique silver carriage.

Evelyn was standing near the top stair with her hand resting dramatically over her heart.

She pointed a sharp red nail down toward Chloe with a furious look in her eyes.

Marcus: What on earth is going on down here right now?

Evelyn: She was sweeping carelessly and bumped right into the historical carriage stand!

Chloe: That is not true, sir, I was standing five feet away!

Evelyn: Do not lie to my fiancé after you nearly ruined his family memory!

Marcus marched down the grand staircase with heavy, loud steps that echoed through the hall.

His jaw was tightly clenched and his eyes were filled with deep, burning disappointment.

He valued honesty above everything else in his house and was deeply protective of his history.

Chloe tried to stand up, but her knees were still shaking from the intense sudden shock.

She looked up at Marcus with pleading eyes as he reached the bottom marble landing.

The heavy silence in the grand foyer felt cold enough to freeze the warm air completely.

Marcus looked down at the silver carriage in Chloe's hands and then looked at her face.

He felt a painful knot form in his stomach because he had trusted Chloe for years.

Evelyn hurried down the stairs behind him, her high heels clicking loudly on every step.

She put her arm through Marcus's arm and leaned her head against his shoulder softly.

Evelyn: Marcus darling, she is clearly careless and cannot be trusted in this house.

Chloe: Mr. Carter, please listen to me for just one moment!

Marcus: How could you be so careless near such an irreplaceable family object?

Chloe: I did not bump it, I ran to save it from falling!

Evelyn: She is making up excuses because she knows she made a terrible mistake.
