A Husband In Shock

A Wealthy Stepmother Pushed The Baby Into The Pool

The loud sound of screaming and splashing echoed through the open double doors of the mansion.

Richard rushed out onto the stone patio with a look of pure panic on his face.

His grey trousers and black shirt were neat, but his eyes were wide with deep terror.

He stopped near the edge of the water, staring in complete shock at the soaked maid.

Richard: What on earth just happened out here?!

Clara pulled herself up onto the wide concrete steps of the swimming pool.

She sat down on the wet stone, cradling the crying baby safely in her lap.

Her body was shaking uncontrollably from cold, adrenaline, and pure anger.

She wrapped a dry outdoor towel around Leo's shivering shoulders as fast as she could.

Victoria stood nearby, smoothing down her gold dress with completely calm movements.

Victoria: Oh darling, it was terrible!

Victoria: The stroller wheel caught a loose tile and rolled right over the edge!

Victoria: I tried to catch it, but I tripped on my long gown!

Clara lifted her head, her face pale and full of fiery indignation.

She pointed a trembling wet finger straight at Victoria's calm face.

Clara: SHE PUSHED HIM IN!

Richard: What did you just say, Clara?

Clara: She pushed the stroller into the deep end with her own two hands!

Clara: I watched her stand there and watch him sink without calling for help!

Victoria gasped loudly and pulled her hand to her throat in mock hurt.

Victoria: How dare an ungrateful servant make up such horrifying lies about me!

Victoria: Richard, fire this crazy girl immediately before she ruins our party!

Richard: Everyone calm down and tell me the absolute truth right now!

Richard looked between his pale wife and the drenched housemaid holding his son.

He knelt down beside Clara and checked his baby's face for any signs of injury.

Leo's breathing was steady now, though his tiny hands held tightly to Clara's shirt.

Clara: Check the security camera mounted right above the patio arches, sir.
