Marcus bent down and gently lifted little Leo up into his strong arms tightly.
The scared child wrapped his arms around his father's neck and let out a sigh.
Victoria walked over and stood right next to her husband with her arms crossed.
She told Marcus that the maid had been careless and disrespectful to the family.
Marcus looked closely at his small boy to make sure he was not hurt.
Marcus: Don’t worry, buddy. I’m here now.
The little boy nodded his head and pointed his tiny finger at his mother.
He wanted to tell his father that Elena had done nothing wrong at all.
Elena touched her warm cheek as tears spilled over her dark eyelashes onto skin.
She felt completely helpless standing before the two powerful and rich home owners.
She knew that losing this cleaning job would mean no money for rent.
Her sick mother was waiting at home for her monthly paycheck this coming Friday.
Elena: Please, sir, you have to believe me!
Marcus turned his head slowly and looked directly down into Elena's wet eyes.
He saw genuine fear and total honesty written across the poor girl's face.
He had known Elena for three years and knew she was always extremely honest.
Victoria tried to pull Marcus away toward the large private living room nearby.
She said they should fire the girl immediately without paying her any money.
Marcus stayed completely still and refused to move a single inch away now.
He noticed a red mark on Elena's cheek that looked very suspicious to him.
His voice became very calm, quiet, and protective as he took a step closer.
Marcus: Tell me the truth. Who did this to you?
Elena shook her head because she was terrified of what Victoria might do.
Victoria gasped loudly and tried to interrupt the conversation once again right away.
She claimed the maid was just making up lies to save her dirty job.
Marcus held up his left hand to silence his loud and angry wife.
He looked at the front door where the security cameras were mounted high up.
He knew that every single corner of the foyer was recorded on tape.
