The Rescue on the Marble

A Cruel Woman Dropped a Baby From a Balcony

Mark: What the hell did you just do?!

Victoria: Mark... I... it was an accident! He slipped out of my hands!

Mark: Slipping doesn't push a baby three feet past the railing into open air!

Up on the balcony, Victoria stood paralyzed in absolute shock and wide-eyed terror, her manicured hands gripping the wooden railing so tightly her knuckles turned white. She stared down at Mark holding the crying child on the foyer floor, her mind racing as her entire wicked plan collapsed in a single second.

Victoria: Mark, please! Listen to me before you say anything to Julian!

Mark: Shut up! Don't you dare speak his name!

Victoria: I was just holding him up to show him the chandelier! The fabric of his onesie was slippery!

Mark: You held him over the edge on purpose, Victoria! I saw your hands open!

Mark adjusted his grip on baby Leo, wrapping his grey suit jacket around the infant to keep him warm and secure. He took three aggressive steps toward the foot of the grand marble staircase, his eyes locked onto Victoria with fierce, unshakeable fury.

Victoria: Mark, be reasonable! If you tell Julian about this, it will ruin our family's public reputation!

Mark: You almost murdered a six-month-old child, and you're worried about reputation?!

Victoria: It was a mistake! I panicked!

Mark: You're a sick, heartless monster!

From the side hallway, Sarah, the estate's head housekeeper, came running into the foyer, her face pale with fright after hearing Mark's thundering voice echo off the high walls.

Sarah: Mr. Mark! What happened?! Is little Leo alright?

Mark: Sarah, take Leo right now! Take him into the nursery and lock the door!

Sarah: Oh Lord... look at his little face! What made him cry like this?

Mark: Victoria just dropped him off the second-floor balcony!

Sarah let out a horrified shriek, her hands flying to her mouth as she looked up at the trembling woman in the green velvet dress.

Sarah: Dear Jesus above! She tried to drop the baby?!

Mark: Take him, Sarah! Hold him tight!

Sarah: Come to Sarah, sweet boy. You're safe now... I'm taking him straight upstairs to the safe room!

Mark gently handed the crying infant
