Arthur's eyes widened in total disbelief as he looked between his crying wife and the brave maid.
He rushed across the bright white room, his leather shoes clicking loudly against the polished marble.
Victoria tried to throw her arms around Arthur, weeping loudly to gain his immediate sympathy and support.
Victoria: She is lying to you, my dear sweet husband!
Victoria: I was just holding Leo when she tackled me!
Arthur looked down at Elena, who was kneeling slightly to protect the quiet, trembling infant.
He noticed the deep red scrapes and heavy bruising forming rapidly on Elena's bare knees.
He also saw the clean skid marks left on the pristine marble floor from her heroic slide.
Elena: Look at the security camera in the corner, sir!
Elena pointed upward toward a small black lens discreetly mounted near the high ceiling moulding.
Victoria's entire face turned instantly pale as she remembered the newly installed high-definition security system.
Arthur pulled out his phone immediately, accessing the live camera footage feed from the foyer.
His hands began to shake violently as he replayed the raw video recording from two minutes prior.
He watched in absolute horror as his wife deliberately released the baby into thin air.
He saw Elena sprint with heroic speed, sliding on her knees to catch little Leo just in time.
Arthur turned slowly toward Victoria, his face filled with pure disgust and overwhelming heartbroken anger.
Arthur: You monster... you actually dropped our son!
Victoria: Arthur, please, it was just a terrible mistake!
Victoria: I was so overwhelmed and lost my temper briefly!
Arthur: Get away from my family right now!
Arthur stepped between Victoria and the maid, placing his broad frame as a protective shield.
He gently took little Leo into his strong arms, holding his son tightly against his chest.
Tears welled up in Arthur's eyes as he realized how close he came to losing his child.
Arthur: I am calling our divorce lawyer and the authorities right now.
Victoria backed away toward the front door, her carefully constructed life crumbling completely around her.
The false mask had fallen off, revealing the dangerous and greedy heart underneath her stylish clothes.
